The Festa dei Gigli is a popular Catholic festival held annually in Nola in honor of the patron saint, St. Paolino. With this event, the people of Nola commemorate the return of Pontius Meropius Paolinus to the city after his imprisonment by the barbarians in the first half of the 5th century.
